40 foot banana split!!

These pictures are from the Awana end of the year celebration we had last night. The clubbers all got awards and then to the banana split. Everyone's favorite part. Our girls voluntered to help serve it and had a great time.

Mother Daughter Tea

This is me and my daughters at our mother/daughter tea at church today. We had a lot of fun. They had a fashion show starring all the little girls from church. Very cute. Had all kinds of salads for lunch and had a very nice time. My middle daughter won the centerpiece. It was a vase of flowers. Very pretty. Now we are off to clean out the van for the kids activity at church this evening and hubby and I are going out without kids!!!! Yeah!!!

quite a week

It's been quite a week so far. Sunday our middle daughter got her first speeding ticket. She was all upset but I told her this is one of those lessons you are going to have to learn. She is going to the class they offer to get the ticket removed from your record. Just hope she doesn't get any more for quite a long time.
Am now on a blood pressure medicine.Ugh!!!! Didn't think I would have to be on something like this but oh well. Am going to have to call the dr. back today because I think this medicine is messing with me. My husband is taking it too and not bothering him at all. Not fair!!!! Hopefully, I can get on something else that won't make me feel so yuck!!!
Not too much more going on. Just busy every day. I don't have any kids this morning yet so I thought I would get some blogging done. I am in the process of making a baby blanket for the new addition. They had their girl on Saturday morning. She is soooooo tiny. I got to hold her yesterday. Only 6 lbs. 4 oz.

Random......

Not much news here at our house. Just keeping busy as usual. The kids had some days off from school this week which was nice for me(extra hands to help). I had a couple of appointments this week so they helped out a lot. Today the kids are all back in school. They only have 3-4 weeks left until summer break. Can't believe how fast the school year goes.
We are anxiously awaiting the birth of a new baby. One of my daycare moms is due any time now. They are having a girl and she will probably be induced on Sunday if she doesn't have her earlier. I love to hold newborns. They are so sweet.
This is prom weekend but none of my girls are going. Not jr.-srs. yet and not dating anyone that is. That is fine with us. Less expense for dresses and pictures and all.:)
I have this weekend off. Am sooooo excited. I don't get too many weekends free. I am going to go get my haircut and we have a meeting to go to on Saturday night but that is all the plans I have for the weekend. Will probably just clean the house and relax the rest of the time. I may even have time to read some this weekend. Wow that would be nice.Hope you all enjoy your weekend.

We had an earthquake this morning at 4:30.I personally didn't know anything was going on because I was still sleeping but I know several people that did know it was happening.
Our daughter's boyfriend,in Southern Illinois was in his dorm room and there were several kids that evacuated the building. I know it was worse down south because that is where it started. I was told that in Chicago there were trimmers felt.
There is a major fault line in Illinois,not sure exactly where but if there ever was a major earthquake I am sure we would know it.
We are all fine here. Nothing damaged and haven't heard on the news of any major damage anywhere so far. I am glad it was nothing major. The only time I have ever felt any trimmers was when i was in high school and it shook a few things in the house. That alone was scary enough.

Well, we have one more driver in the family now. Our second daughter just got her license a few weeks ago. It is nice to have that extra driver but then again it is another thing to worry about,having her out there with all the other people that are driving. Scary!!!!
Our oldest is going on a trip this Friday and Saturday to visit a college she wants to go to this fall. She is finishing up her freshman year here,but would like to go to this other college for her next three years. My hubby is going with her Friday to find out about financial help and all that fun stuff. She is going to go to several classes and hang out with the kids there. She is really looking forward to it.
We also have had another one come down with the flu. Our oldest daughter had it yesterday. Now, mom is the only one that hasn't had it and hope NOT too.
70 degrees today so we are going to enjoy the day. We haven't had too many warm days so hope you all have a great day. We are going to enjoy the sun :)

Tuesday blahs

Haven't felt much like blogging lately. Guess it is because everyone is not feeling well here. The girls are down again today not feeling well. Just hope and pray that no one else gets it. It has been all over town and I wish it would just leave!!!!
Not much going on here. Just same old thing. Work,work,work. Only two kids today so far so that is a nice break for me.
Just not feeling up to much. Hope I am not coming down with anything too. Have you ever just felt blah?
Hopefully we will see the sun today and make everyone feel better. It is cold and rainy today.

We've got the flu

Well we made it to April before anyone got sick. We have 2 home today with it and hopefully no one else. I have had some of the daycare kids that have had it but it is just now getting our family. Luck us.
The weather is looking nicer today. Next week it is to be in the 50's and may hit the 60's. Yeah!!!!! Spring is finally here.
Gotta get back to taking care of the sick kids. Have a great day!!

Hope everyone is having a great day and not getting pranked too much today. This is my hubby's favorite holiday b/c he is quite a joker. He hasn't pulled any good pranks for quite a while now. Maybe he is growing out of it??? Nah. All the kids forgot about it today so no jokesters around here. Probably for the best.

Spring Break

Well, the kids spring break is almost to an end and they have had a good week. Our youngest daughter is at her aunt's house having fun and getting spoiled. Our middle daughter has been gone since yesterday. Spending time with her boyfriend and his family. Everyone else is here and it has been unusually quiet. Not sure if I like that or not. I am used to a busy noisy house.
Today our oldest daughter is taking our dog to the beauty shop,as we call it, to get groomed and bathed. It takes 3 hours for them to get her beautiful,so Brie made an eye appointment while she is waiting for the dog.
I am working today but only 3 kids today. Not bad for spring break. It snowed again yesterday. My son told me it was snowing and I said don't say that-that is a bad word haha:) I am sick of snow and would love to see some warm weather here soon!!!! We got about an inch so maybe it will melt off today.
At least the birds are singing and I did see a robin yesterday so that is a good sign for spring,right? :)

Busy,busy busy

Hope everyone is having a great week. Can't believe tomorrow is Friday already. Am looking forward to it b/c I have that day off. I don't get too many days off. Have to take the pets in for shots tomorrow but that will be the highlight of the day.:) May go and get my hair cut too. That is always fun.
The kids are off of school starting tomorrow for spring break so next week will be even busier here than usual. At least they can sleep in for a change.
Can't believe that we are suppose to get snow tomorrow!!!!!!!!!! I thought we would be done with it,but are suppose to get 3-5 inches if it comes our way!!!! Am so ready for it all to quit!!!!

We have cabinets!!

We almost have our kitchen back now. We do have cabinets,but now I have to decide where to put everything. That is the hard part. Today my hubby is putting in the plumbing for the sink and will wire for the lights so we can see :). At least I can cook dinners in there now. We have to finish up the drywall and sand then I get to paint and put up the border. Hopefully, this week we will be able to show you the completed project. With both of us working full time it is difficult to get all this done quickly,but I really like the way it is coming together!!!
Thanks Dad sooooo much for coming and putting in our new cabinets for us!!!!!
By the way, the 2nd picture where there is a space between cabinets is where my future dishwasher is going.*smile*

I can't believe it is that time already. It seems alot earlier this year.

We are making progress

We finally have walls in our kitchen YEAH!!!!! I am so excited. The kitchen is really starting to look nice. My dad and hubby and a couple of other guys have been working very very hard to get this done, and I really appreciate all their hard work.
We went last night to Menards to get the paint and a few other things. Our paint color is named Ice Cream. Yes, you read it right!! I thought it was a cool name for kitchen paint,huh??? The girls and my mom helped pick out the color. We had to have the guy adjust the color just a little but I think it will look good.Will try to have more pictures later (hopefully with paint and maybe border on the walls:))

I love remodeling simply for the fact that you can see what "lovely" wallpaper was there before(and I am soooo glad they covered this up)*smile*. I tried to write about each picture beside the pictures but I can't figure out how to do that so, will just have to describe them here at the bottom of the post. Don't ya just love that wallpaper that used to be there(don't know how many years ago?) Our son had to have his macho picture taken with the hammer. He helped alot being the "gopher" all day and taking pieces of wood out to the dumpster. Tired out quicker than everyone else though.As you can see we had a very busy day.Got most of the walls down and only have the one behind the fridge to go and then wiring and drywalling and lights are next. We have til Wednesday to get all this done and I am working this week so that ought to be quite interesting. I know it will all be worth the work . Will keep posting pictures of the progress. Can't wait to show you all the finished work!!!
Mom and Dad are on their way with our cabinets. I think they are in Kentucky until this morning and are on their way to my grandparents today.
