A Crazy Week

Well, we found out that our daughter never did have the mumps. The first doctor she went to read the blood tests wrong and told us it was mumps. Then we took her back to the dr. here and he said it was just a swollen gland that caused the infection. So, since i have a daycare home i had to close down until the second blood test came back that said she defintely did NOT have the mumps. I have had no kids here all week, which also means i don't get paid for this week. I really don't want to have to go through this again. This week has been horrible. I have had to tell daycare parents-yes we do have mumps you cannot bring your child and then the next day-oh they called and said she doesn't have the mumps and you can go ahead and bring them. I know these parents are getting confused. I know i was for a while. In the mean time, our daughter was enjoying her days off from school:) They had spring break the week before and since she didn't have a note from the dr. until yesterday(when the 2nd blood tests came back) she had to stay home from school. She was not upset at all. Of course, she only has one day of school this week b/c of Good Friday and Easter, and they also have Monday off for some reason.
I just hope life gets back to normal soon b/c this last week has driven me crazy.

I'm glad that your daughter doesn't have mumps after all but the misdiagnosis is somehow annoying because it affected your daycare program. It's good to hear that your daughter enjoyed her days off from school.

Have a blessed Holy Week.
