our little superman

Three years ago we were approached by this little man's grandma about adopting him. We had had him in my daycare since he was about 11/2 years old. We weren't sure how to take the news since our kids were in their teens and we weren't ready to raise another child.
We ended up adpoting him in August of 2003 and we have had our ups and downs with raising another child but we are,by the grace of God,making it through. I had a really hard time with the first few months having him here. I think since he took so well to dad,it made me a little jealous. I had that bonding process with the girls but not with him which made it harder to get to know him on a family level. Don't get me wrong i love the little guy,but it has taken a while to get to know him.
This fall he is going into the first grade and is very excited about it. Can't believe how fast kids grow up. We have a senior, freshman, and also an eighth grader this year. Makes me sad to see them grow up so quickly but i love to see how they have blossomed into such wonderful kids.

Wow! I love this story. That is wonderful that you opened your home and your heart to this little guy...who is adorable by the way....you take after your own Father in Heaven that way!! He's big on adoption too!

Thanks for sharing...and have fun with a 1st grader.
