We usually go to our family's house and play games, talk, eat and stay up all night

We bought a new van. We were going to buy one but bought it
sooner than i expected and i love it;)

Where was your favorite place that you visited in 2006?
Favorite place. hmmm..... Probably Georgia and Florida. We went there this
November and had a great time visiting with family and going to Disney.

What resolution is your top priority for 2007?
Haven't thought about too many resolutions yet but one i am already working
on is going to the gym more and getting into better shape. Also, not eating as much
sugar or bread. Tough to do i know but has to be done for weight loss;)

This is from our trip to Disney in November. We got to ride on a float in the Christmas parade at Animal Kingdom. Lots of fun!!!! That is my daughter and me and my son.

I know it's been a long time since i posted. We have been very busy and now will start posting again. Hope everyone had a great Christmas and have a Happy New Year!!!! Have missed being online and am glad to be back.

What song gives you the most holiday cheer?
I love all the Christmas songs but if i have to choose one I would say maybe Jingle Bell Rock.It is just too hard to pick .

Who is the hardest person to shop for on your holiday list?
Hmmm. Probably my husband because he always says he doesn't want anything and doesn't give too many suggestions to help with shopping.

When do you start your holiday shopping?
As soon as we have time and money to get it done:)

What food or drink do you love when it's cold out? (Recipes and recommendations please)
I love to have hot chocolate and marshmallows. Also like to have chili and crackers or broccoli and cheese soup.
What do you do to get rid of a cold or flu?
I have tried Zicam for colds and it helps a little. I just try chicken noodle soup and sprite most of the time for flu. Not much you can do but rest as much as possible.

Just thought i would share what my daughter made on the computer. I think she is very good at drawing,especially on the computer. I know i couldn't do this. She is coming up with things all the time. I have even had her make some birthday cards for me. Very nice Katie. Keep up the good work:)

Posting later today since i couldn't get online this am. Had a hard time finding something red this morning but i found a picture of our Santa Sadie:). Isn't she a cutie. I will tell you she was not happy about putting the boots on at all. She probably wore this for about 2 minutes total.

We were listening to Snoopy's Christmas CD yesterday and a little boy i watch said one of the songs were scary b/c they were oooohing. He said it was a Halloween song instead of Christmas.

Ransom. Did not like that movie at all.

National mom's day off.

1. I wish people would just be happy.
2.My biggest pet peeve where other drivers are concerned, is stay far enough behind other people so you don't tailgate. I really hate that.
3.I will probably spend about " too much" :) on the holidays this season.
4.I really hope to lose more weight by the end of this calendar year.
5.I make about 2-3 resolutions each year, and keep 1-2 of them.

happy birthday Ricky

Today is Ricky's 7th birthday. Three years ago we thought we were done having kids ,but Ricky's grandma came to us one day after daycare and asked if we would adopt. After lots of thought,we decided to adopt. My hubby finally would have his boy. (we have 3 girls) Ricky is now in first grade and in a wrestling club. He got to go to Disney just two weeks ago for the first time and he really enjoyed it. His favorite ride was the Star Wars ride. He really thought they went to the moon and back home. It was all still magical to him. Everyone there in Disney celebrated his birthday. He got to be on a Disney float at Animal Kingdom, got to be in the final parade act at the Lion King show,and all of our favorite was he had to wear a birthday badge and everyone in the park wished him a happy birthday. He was loving that.
Happy birthday Ricky. We love you!!!!!

home again

We are finally home. After several of us had the flu on the way home we finally made it.Got here about 11 or so last night after getting up at 1 am that morning and driving straight through. I took off work today so i can get things back to normal. All the kids went to school so that helped:)
We had a wonderful time in Georgia and Florida. The weather finally ended up being warm. Today here at home it is suppose to snow. Yeah!!! I love the first snow.
Will post pictures later. Just wanted to let everyone know we are here and are all fine now.

we're off........

We are leaving tomorrow morning on vacation..Yeah!!!!!! We are going to my parents house for a week and then taking off to Disney. We have been there several times but our youngest has never been there before so it ought to be lots of fun!!! He is REALLY looking forward to going. The girls just like the idea of getting to leave for a while:) since they have been there.
We are driving all the way through to Georgia so it ought to be quite an experience. We told the kids they could stay up most of tonight because then they will sleep while we are driving. Good plan huh? Just hope it works and they are not too wired to sleep. We need a few hours of quiet driving so it won't seem like such a long trip.
Will fill you in with details of the trip and hopefully lots of pictures for you to enjoy.
Have a great weekend and will be back in a week and a half. Vacation here I come:)

Haven't been able to blog for a few days because i couldn't get onto blogger. I could get on any other website but not blogger. Oh well, don't really know what happened but we are back,at least for a few more days. We are taking off to Georgia on Saturday. We are traveling all the way through. Ought to be fun:P

Happy birthday Emily

Today is our middle daughter's 15th birthday. Can't believe she is that age already!!! As our tradition goes, on their 15th bday they get to go to Woodfield Mall with some of their friends to go shopping for their bday. They also get to eat dinner at Rainforest Cafe. This is a real fun place to eat.They also get to have a volcano at the cafe-which is a mountain of ice cream and brownies. Yum!!!!!(she is the one in red:)

vacation day???

The kids have today off if we decide it's ok. I know that sounds strange but there was a threatening note given to the high school and another of the elementary schools yesterday and the teachers all called and said if we decided not to send the kids today it wouldn't count against them because of the situation.The schools will all be on lock down but that still doesn't stop someone from doing anything stupid. It is sad that the world has changed so much that you feel afraid to send your own kids to school because of some whacko that wants to scare everyone.
So, today i am letting them sleep in. We decided that they can stay home. I would like the help today with the daycare kiddos anyway:) Besides i may have extra kids if their parents decide to not send them:P

I loved going to my Grandma's house at Christmas time. It was always a lot of fun getting together with our cousins and Grandma would always buy DQ Dilly bars for the kids. We had a lot of fun playing on the farm where she lived.

How do you calm down when something has really upset and/or angered you? Do you swallow it? Call a friend and rant? Go in the bathroom and cry? Punch a wall? Walk around muttering to yourself, complete with scary hand gestures?
First i count to ten...I know it sounds silly but that really gives you time to calm down. I just try to deal with whatever angered me. After i calm down i may call my friend for advice on how to deal with it.

I just think it is fun to do and i like to read other people's answers. You can get to know other people really well by some of the questions that are asked.

Reliant on computers..... not really just like to get on the internet and blog or play games or chat with family.

I have really tried to keep calm during a crisis. Taking care of young children you really have to learn to keep calm otherwise you are going to have a house full of upset people.

Busy weekend

Sorry no Photo hunt today. Our Firefox went down for a couple of days and had to use IE instead so I just didn't post. I have all my things on Firefox and like to use it.
We are getting pumpkins this weekend for Halloween. I know we are late but just too busy around here to get things done. Every weekend there is something to do. If it's not band it is a concert or have to go to dr. appointments. Today i took the day off and cleaned. Finally have a weekend to get things done around here.

Our Anniversary

Today is our 18th wedding anniversary.Doesn't seem like that long at all. Man how time flies. We knew each other from high school and met up again after high school. My hubby came to Pensacola Florida with my mom and brother to pick me up from college and when we met again, that was it:)That fall we were married and bought a house in a town about 20 minutes away from our families.
Today we have four children. Three teenage girls and a six year old boy. I wouldn't trade my family for the world.

1. Favorite memory of your mother?
Favorite memory...hmmmm. I remember that my mom was always there for us. She stayed home to raise us as long as she could. That is very important to kids. I remember almost every summer we would go to the strawberry patch and pick strawberries and then have to come home and take the stems off and then she would make strawberry jam. Yumm;)Mom always had things for us to do to keep us busy.Now she is a wonderful grandma to all of our kids.:)



2. Favorite memory of your father?
Dad has always been a hard working dad. He made sure that we had everything we needed no matter what. I remember one time my brother wanted to get a jacket from school and Dad sold something very important to him to get it for my brother. Dad has always sacrificed things for us kids to have what we needed.Dad is also a wonderful Grandpa to our kids:)



3. What one skill would you like to wake up tomorrow and be able to do (though you'd never learned it)?Well, lets see. I would like to be able to know more about the computer. I would like to be able to run in a marathon just once. I would like to be able to play the guitar.

4. Which one of your dreams has come true. My dream to have a wonderful family. I am very happy with my hubby and kids and wouldn't trade them for anything.

We used to go to my in laws house for Christmas eve and have dinner and open presents. Then we would go to my parent's house on Christmas morning for Christmas with them. Have a big breakfast and then go to my sister in laws house about an hour and a half away and have Christmas there. This year we are going to my parents house in Georgia.

Usually blog in the morning because i get up earlier than everyone else and can have time to get it done without too many interuptions.:)

Birthday party

Today was our youngest daughter's birthday party. Her actual birthday was in August but with school starting before her birthday now,we don't have any free weekends to celebrate her birthday.So, it ended up today was the first day we had to celebrate. That is pretty sad that you can't even celebrate a birthday because you get sooooo busy. Guess that is what happens though when you have 4 kids:).This first picture of the girls is from the corn maze that we took them to for part of the party.
When we got home we had mostaccioli and other snacks and then the kids played guitar hero and dance dance revolution. Yes, it was quite loud in the house for a while today. They had a lot of fun and the kids didn't leave until about 9pm. Now i have to go clean up.

One.. two ...hut!

Yesterday my oldest daughter had a marching band competition. We told her we were going to all her competitions this year since this is her senior year. Well, this competition was in Chicago-not my favorite place to drive:P and the only way I was going to be able to go was if my hubby would drive. Well, he had to work so I just went about my work at home. Our friends came by about 1pm and asked if we would like to ride with them to the competition. I was thrilled!!! He said they were leaving soon, so i got on the phone to my hubby, told him they were taking us and we left. We just got there in time for the competition to start. I had called my daughter to let her know we were coming. She was very happy.
They did not place but it was a very tough competition. This was their hardest competition of the whole season. It was very good practice for them though.
Their music selection this year was from the movie The nightmare before ChristmasThe drum majors dressed as characters from the movie. It was cute.
We ended up leaving after the awards ceremony, which was good because there was a storm coming. We got hammered with rain on the way home.The band members had to stay at the competition. We felt soooo bad for them since it was pouring. Half way home, our daughter called us and said they were coming home too. I was glad. All of us got home safely and had a great day.(click on pictures to see them better)

I really focus on whatever problem it is and try to over come it. Never really bit my nails, haven't smoked and don't ever want to,picking your nose eeeewwwwww.Overeating is a problem that comes with stress around here.I try to drink more water instead of eating.

1. How do you eat an oreo cookie? (from tricia) I take the cookie apart and eat the white middle first then eat the cookie part.
2. How long does it take you to eat lunch?about 15 minutes if i get a chance to sit down and eat.My lunch is in the middle of feeding kids and getting them down for naps.

Our weekend

My Hubby,Dad and daughter and other daughter's boyfriend went to a cubs game on Saturday and this is how close to the field they were.They had a great time!!!!! They got to eat at Grand Central Station after riding the train to Chicago. The weather was beautiful and the Cubs won!!!!!!! What a great present for my Dad who has been a Cub fan since i can remember.My daughter even got her picture put on the Cubs website for the fan photos with our middle daughter's boyfriend. I'd say their day was perfect.

The rest of us left at the house got to go to the mall and shop for homecoming dresses for our freshman and senior girls. We had a ball. The only one that didn't like the day that much was our 6 year old son. He was very good though and got to pick out a toy at KB toys for being so good. Today, if the rain holds off, we are going to watch my oldest daughter march in a parade and then go to the apple orchard. We're praying for another nice day. The weather has been perfect since my parents came to visit.

3. How long is the longest you've gone, so far, without posting on your blog?Usually just a day or two. I like to try to keep current that is why i do the Monday madness, Thursday thirteen and saturday photo hunt. Gives me something to post about.

5. Have you ever met, in person, a blogger on your blogroll?Actually yes,but not sure if mine counts since one of the ones on my blogroll is my mom.:)
6. How often do you update/change the 'extra' stuff on your blog?I like to change things and add things but don't do it that often. I really like the blinkies.
7. Do you think you'll be blogging for years to come?Not sure...hopefully will.

1. Which holidays (if any) do you consider more as a day off from work, than anything else?They are all a day off to me because i work in my home and any day i don't have people coming in the door for babysitting is a day off:)
2. Which 3 holidays are most celebrated in your family?Christmas, Thanksgiving, Valentine's day.
3. Do you have an organized filing system at home?Yes.
4. Do you clip coupons for groceries? If so, do you remember to use them? If not, why?I don't clip coupons as much as I used to probably because we don't get the paper any more and there isn't that many coupons that come in the mail.
5. How many magazines do you subscribe to? 0
6. Do you play any computer games on a regular basis? If so, which is your favorite, and why?Yes. I love computer games. I go to Miniclips, Grab.com, Shockwave or whatever site i can find that has new games. yes i am a computer junkie:)
7. Have you watched any movies worth recommending, lately?I watched Tristan and Isolde. It is in the medieval times where these two fall in love but are not able to see each other b/c of imperial politics. Very good movie..

1. Do you do dishes by hand or do you use a dishwasher? By hand. Don't have a dishwasher unless you count all my girls-but those dishwashers are broken:)
2. How many people have your cell phone number? Only family and a few friends.
3. Do you shower in the morning or at night? Morning because if I did at night i couldn't sleep.
4. Do you ever have a song 'stuck' in your head? Yes!!!!
5. Do you pay your bills when they arrive, or do you wait until closer to the due date to pay them? Try to pay them when they arrive but most of the time have to wait for the money to come in first;P
6. Are you obsessive about anything in particular? I don't like a dirty house Can't stand when it gets out of hand.
7. What one thing would you say you have a zero tolerance for? bad attitudes.
